The House

The ‘Marcopolo’ is located halfway along the road linking the port of Livadi to the main village of Hora.
The walk from Livadi to Hora takes 15 minutes by donkey path (mule) if you follow the stairs, or 10 minutes by bus.
Marcopolo is an old ‘keli’ (Cycladic barn) newly renovated with all the comforts of a modern home. It is free standing and offers privacy & quiet built alongside a rock outcrop and is a perfect viewpoint for watching the nesting eagles in the hills.

The house consists of a large living room, lounge with sofa bed and a second double bed built in the elevated Cycladic style, kitchen, toilet, shower, computer corner and plenty of storage. Sheets, towels & seasonal duvets are provided. All windows are fitted with double glazing & mosquito nets designed for summer & winter. Joining the house is a guest room suitable for 2 people, also fully equipped.

The pergola will shade you from the sun during the day and be a perfect outdoor dining area after hours. There is an outdoor kitchen with hot plates, electric grill and traditional antique mosaic wash basin. The family dining area has 2 sofas, tables & chairs and is perfect for breakfasts, alfresco dining or for relaxing & sipping on an ouzo (local aperitif).
